Lightband Wines - Nelson
We are proud to introduce Lightband Wines to Australia.
Owners Simon Prattley and Susanne Merz produce premium quality grapes on their Mount Arthur Vineyard located in Brightwater/Nelson. The area with its free draining gravel based alluvial soils and sunny climate has proven its capability of providing grapes of excellent quality. Select grapes from the vineyard are now marketed under the Lightband label .
The vineyard was planted in 2000 to Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and more recently expanded to include Pinot Gris. The wines have all the hallmarks of their origin; the whites are aromatic, flinty, minerally with a lovely fine acid backbone. The Pinot Noir shows warmth, plum and cherry characteristics with a velvety tannin structure.
